About

The articles on this site are concerned with the work of exploring how colonialism has influenced the effort to rebuild the tribal religions and worldviews of Germanic peoples as lived and understood prior to the Conversion. They are thought experiments engaged in the process of rebuilding tribal lifeways, identities, communities, and connections to the world and the other peoples who inhabit it and shared here to prompt consideration and broader participation in this exploration among others working to reconstruct Germanic (and other) tribal and polytheistic cultures in the 21st century. The contributors understand colonialism to have created a particular patina through which people not cognizant of its impact view all of history, and consequently colonialist ideas and biases inherently hinder us from understanding our relationships to people and land in the same ways our pre-conversion forebears would have done. Because of this, the work of reconstruction requires us to disentangle our efforts from the colonialist hangover. If you find these conversations interesting you can find us at the  Decolonizing Heathenry Facebook group.
